If you were a head coach of team sport and it is your first season at a program that has been in the doldrums for a few years, what would be more important to have on your roster as you try and build that program:
Chemistry or talent?
I feel like in that first season, I'd rather have chemistry. That first year sets the foundation and tone for the program moving forward. If the team has been bad for a few years, it is vital to get some good vibes surrounding the program. While it is true talent can lead to wins which creates good vibes, but if the talent doesn't lead to winning and the chemistry is bad it can blow up real quick.
Now, if the team is paying poorly that first season but the chemistry not only remains intact but strong then it can start bringing out talent and maybe even draw some talent into the program.
