Tons of talk and debate around here over the years about transfers and sports.
I won't name names but last year a top multi-sport athlete transferred schools - huge boost for the receiving school, huge loss for the sending school. The athlete had some issues in the classroom, and I didn't know if this kid was on the path to qualify - he's a high major prospect. After talking to one of his coaches this morning I was informed his academics are going great and he's done a 180.
That is a transfer I can support all day long. It has to start in the classroom, otherwise it doesn't matter how talented you are in sports - you won't get very far if you don't have the grades and work ethic in the classroom.
