Ok, I have to vent. I have a son on the Boulder Creek team and have coached/watched most of these kids since they were very little. I cannot figure out what has happened to this team. they started the season off 7-1 and won the PV Thanksgiving tourney. SInce then they are now 3-8.
Last night we were up 6 vs. Mt. Ridge (#3) with 5 to go. We call timeout and come out in the 4 corner stall. Ridge goes on 10-2 run and ends up winning on a last second shot. Nick Johnson had 10 in first half, zero in second. Brauns had 16 through 3, zero in fourth. Matt Downey had 8 in third, zero in fourth.
Last Thursday vs. Gilbert (#5) we up 4 with 4 to go and we call timeout and go into stall. End up losing on last second tip in.
Previous Friday we up 10 vs. Saint Marys end of third. We stall entire fourth quarter, as they go on 16-4 run to win the game in last minute.
BC has two guards in Nick Johnson and Matt Downey who are both in the top 10 in the state at their position. They have Justin Braun who has really become a quality wing this year. Yet they refuse to go to them or ride them to victories. They run the flex offense for three quarters then delay/stall. Not fun for the players, fans, or anyone involved. This has become one of the most frustrating seasons I've ever seen.
