Between us all we have covered thousands of sporting events. Does anyone have any pregame, in game, or post game rituals?
I've got some quirks. I always take the same route and try to park in the same space at a venue. The parking doesn't always work but I give it my best effort. For HS Football I always start on the side of the home team. When doing play by play of a given sport I always like to have 5 minutes with each coach before the game and also 15 minutes of silence where I talk to no one and run a few things through my head by myself. Lastly when I'm covering the Diamondbacks I always leave the house exactly 2 hours and 40 minutes before the scheduled first pitch.
