Juco Jamboree player notes:

6’11” 220 C Trever Irish Freshman (Central AZ)
-Irish is huge when you see him. He has freakishly long arms with monster size hands. He palms the ball like Jordan used to palm it. He rebounds in and out of his area with his strength, height and length. He isn’t the scorer right now, as he is more of a defender who will only score on putbacks/dunks/tip-ins. He can face-up just a little but needs to further his game. The staff is super high on him and believes in two years he will be a HM get. I need to see it before I can sign off for it first. He is an intriguing prospect with legit size who needs to show growth over the course of the year.

6’5” 230 PF Andre Jones Soph (AZ Western)
-Jones is a man-child of a body and athlete. The undersized 4-man jumps out of the gym with sheer power and strength. He can muscle his way into the paint and score and he showed his springs with a flush on top of a jumping defender. It was truly shocking. He isn’t that tall but plays like he’s 6’8”. He also only scores with his ball handling to the cup/rim running/and hustling. He doesn’t shoot the ball all that well but makes up for it with defense and motor.
Jones holds offers from Western IL, Lamar and Bethune-Cookman.

6’9” 230 C Pat O’Herron Freshman (Chandler-Gilbert)
-O’Herron isn’t the typical back to the basket center as he is more of a face-up 5-man. He comfortably hit two 3’s in the game and shows he is highly skilled. He can hit shots from midrange and when he tried to post up he ended up facing up instead of using post moves. He rebounds well and moves up the court easily. He is a late bloomer as he only played 15 games of HS per father.

6’7” 205 F Bryce Cheney Soph (Mesa)
-Cheney is an athletic shooting forward. He has a good frame, good skill and easy bounce. He can handle the ball well and makes good passes to teammates. His lateral quickness isn’t as impressive as his vertical prowess above the rim. He can shoot the 3pt shot consistently and hit the mid-range jumper. He also is a good rebounder and terrific in the open court. He is more of a straight line driver then a shifty ball handler. He can play both spots but will most likely by a face-up 4-man. Played locally at Moon Valley HS.

6’9” 185 PF MIkel Beyers Freshman (Mesa)
-Beyers is a long and lean skilled forward. He is very skinny currently but once he puts on the proper weight he will be a problem. He can hit the 3pt shot plus put it on the floor and throw it down. He is a face-up 4-man with bounce. Played locally at Dysart HS.
(He may have the highest upside arguably in the ACCAC)

6’4” 180 SG Adonis Arms Soph (Mesa)
-Arms is a much improved 2-guard who has grown 3 inches since I saw him play in HS. He has good length, athleticism, good size for position and a nice jumper. He can pull-up from mid range and hit from deep as well. Played locally at Desert Vista HS.

6’3” 185 CG Brandon McGhee Soph (AZ Western)
-McGhee is a long and skilled true combo guard. He can shoot it to the 3pt line and has good size to get into the lane and score it. He has a good pace to his game and he can defend his position with his good length and quickness plus make others better.
