Anyone care to "gamble" on where he ends up?
compliance department at lsu??
That’s a gamble
That would be awesome but no.
Aranda is probably leaving LSU for a HC gig.
Apparently Aranda has a clause in his contract that guarantees him $5mm over the next 2 years. If he accepts a D1 head coaching job or any job in the NFL, the $5mm is still guaranteed.
I’m hoping Jordan continues to succeed in life. I know y’all are proud of him. I’m guessing going to seedy Las Vegas has to be a step up from Loseranna. Loseranna is known for the most alcoholics per capita, a bunch of swamp land and nothing else.
Something soured or Aranda just had second thoughts. UNLV is a no-go.
Yep. Very few SEC schools will accept a GA until they have at least 1 year of GA experience elsewhere, LSU included. This would have been perfect for him.
Something else will turn up.
Good luck to him.
What LSU will do is pay him the difference between his salary at the new place and $2.5 so he makes $2.5M per year. If he goes anywhere they have to pay him at least as much as the last coach was paid or something like that. He can’t for example go free and get the entire $2.5 M from LSU. I am not sure how it works but something like that.
I did not think that Aranda would take the UNLV job. He is a very family oriented person, and his family loves Baton Rouge. I think any move and his deal depends on being a HC job or OC in the NFL. I am not sure but I don’t think he can make a lateral move at all before 4 years. There are still people talking to him.
Correct...thought that's what I said.
I was surprised that he considered it but he absolutely took a hard look. He can get a better job than UNLV imo.
Nobody's family LOVES Baton Rouge! Tell the truth Bill-D...
Aranda’s wife and daughters have sure said it a lot of times. They were a big part of his turning down A&M a couple of years ago. After he agreed to the LSU deal A&M they made him a higher offer. I understand they told him not to talk to them about it because they wanted to stay in Baton Rouge. The Tx coach also made a run at him. They both haway more money than LSU.
I was not questioning what you said. I was just giving a little more detail how it works. He has dropped everybody from consideration right now. Something might come up as a coordinator in the NFL after the season. But I don’t think he will look at anymore college jobs, though that might change any day.
I don’t think he’s capable of telling the truth. Even HE moved out of that shithole state. I’m thinking he said he and his family were in Texas?
