Great inside game by Highland High, always prepared to attack your ( our) weaknesses:
Interior post defense, offensive maturity, understanding the difference betwee 'losing" and getting "beat".
1st Qtr: Highland : 15 Casa Grande: 8, Highland scores 8 quick points inside. Poor Cougar defense.
2nd Qtr: Highland : 39 Casa Grande: 19, We (Cougars) were impatient on our offensive sets, forced shots, did not box out
3rd Qtr: Highland : 63 Casa Grande: 33, Fatigue along with poor shot selection, Team A starts to get "annoyed" with each other, replaced by Team B ( Cougar subs). The coaching staff ( Pollins) will revisit/ review defensive strategies to prepare for Section 6 play in January 2015.
4th Qtr/ Final Score: Highland : 74 Casa Grande: 36, Great attitude from Team B ( subs), who played hard, injured/ recovery Anthony Brooks, 6`4 has worked hard since his near fatal car accident in March 2014, Junior Wesley "Snipes" Martin provides solid defense, "driveability", will also help in Section 6 play. Sixth CJ Andrews missed both games ( flu), hurt our rotation.
Record: 6-4.
Team Grade: C-, Solid start with transfers, new coaching staff, "developing Team Trust".
Team/Player/ Coaching Attitude: A-. We are giving ourselves a opportunity to learn "on the job", while developing a teacious mind set to compete as an up & coming team. Merry Christmas, Next Game, 1/1/15 at the Coolidge New Year`s Tournament.
