    Prognosis?

Most of these injuries I'm familiar with (when I was in Radiology) were old people to start with. We were unable to put them in traction for weeks since they would die of pneumonia.

    ^^this

Had to operate today. Very serious injury when it dislocates posteriorly. Similar to what happened to Bo Jackson.

I was thinking it may have been similar to Bo's injury. I hope it turns out better for Tua than it did for Bo.

Agree. Rivalries aside, you don't want to see these guys get injured. Further, Tua seems like a good kid, so it would double suck.

Hard to say with certainty, but on a posterior wall fracture (which is what he had in conjunction with the dislocation), the tissue detaches which is common but just adds more post op therapy and recovery.

It’s really bullshit that it happened to this kid, especially on just a regular tackle.

Seriously, what a great young man. As gifted as he is physically, it's his mental makeup that defines him. What a freaking winner.

You will probably update this with better sources... but my ortho NP friend at SV says that Cain was ecstatic after they got the contrast MRI- complete capillary circulation was restored within a couple of hours no vascular or neuro impairment... posterior fracture repair was clean , no chips, extraordinary result. Walking in 6 weeks.

If Bos injury had occurred today he would have had similar recovery.

Speaking of winners and hip injuries. Bo Jackson got out of the hospital bed after hip replacement and on his 1st at bat, cranked a dinger to right field against the Yankees.

    Good luck to Tua.

Disappointing he won’t take another snap for us but very happy he will be back on his feet soon.

I’m sorry but Mongo has been a disappointment since he and his family showed up in Tuscaloosa.

one could make the argument that he brought Bama back in the NC game Hurts was flopping in but the truth is .... it was thUGA. They were gonna choke no matter who the QB was.

Had to be the additional weight on his back/pelvis when he drove his right knee into the ground; his pelvis kept moving forward with an extra 300lbs or so while his femur acted like a rod in the ground. Shame.

Glad hip injuries aren't more common in FB.

Yes but that’s beside the point. Dispute that FACT that Mongo has been a disappointment.

Have you not been banging the Heisman drum for him for years? How’d that turn out for you? LMAO!!!!

This is essentially true. Outside of that game he didn’t do much at Alabama against elite competition. His lone famous game is a half against an unprepared defense for a school that’s notorious for choking.

At least they played GA a lot unlike other people who would rather play TN. But he is talking about 19 games this century. They could have won 6 this century.

For the last 12 years pretty much so. Not likely to be more then average good and this only occasionally and the forecast isn’t good. Look at the record and what’s ahead of them. I didn’t make it what it is.

Drop the traditional opponent, add game and each team could play each team in the other division twice ever four years.

You weren’t crying about this when Tennessee was good at football. You really don’t understand how schedules work and never really have understood at all.

UT has the 2nd most SEC titles, tied with UGA now (after Bama of course). I'm certain that you were crying for Bama in those days while cursing LSU for not playing them regularly. Is that right Bill?

The only way to make whiney pussies like you happy is to adjust Bama's schedule so that we're always playing the hot team....but I bet you would still find something to cry about.

You could bundle up everything @Bill_D knows about football and throw in a thimble. The sound of it hitting the bottom of the thimble would echo for a month.

I understand how it works in the SEC when every official in the SEC office had strong Bama connections and many still do. For example there were “scheduling problems” so they solved them by AL skipping FL and playing KY. Then a little later they prevented AL from playing either GA or FL, I forget which, by “honoring” MO entry into the SEC by sending AL to play them. This was caused by the “traditional opponent” since they had to play TN. Yes I know how it works.
