Lost Radio Interview w/Dr. James Naismith Discovered - UNREAL!!!

He is the inventor of basketball. I've only listened to the first minute but this is incredible!!! The undisputed inventor of basketball was 77 in 1939 when this was recorded! He explains how he invented the game by changing the rules by eliminating traveling until it all worked.

God Bless the Amsden's

Ralph's wife Erin is in her 20th day of labor awaiting their fourth child, and first daughter. And she is still heading off to work every day.

This little girl is preparing to be super tough for the crap her three big brothers will surely heap on her. Those boys have no clue what they are in store for.

I've had the pleasure to be around those boys a few times - pure boyhood goodness going on at the Amsden's household. Ralph clearly outkicked the coverage on his marriage like I did. Erin is a beauty.

Highland 71-Boulder Creek 67

Last night I saw one of the best high school games I've seen in a long time. Highland got off to a quick lead with Tim Fuller inside. He had 16 by halftime and had about 5 thunderous dunks inside. In the second half the Highland guards took over and made big shot after big shot.

Boulder Creek's Matt Downey had 25, and took BC on his back and brought them within one with the ball and 30 seconds to go. BC couldn't convert and Highland won at the foul line. Nick Johnson had probably his worst shooting night ever, missing probably 10 or more threes in a row, most on wide open looks. He may be suffering from playing the past 3 games without coming out even once.

What I took away was this, these are two of the absolute best teams in the state. They both play the game the right way, as a TEAM. They will both be heard from later this season. Highland's student section rocked the house. It was amazing BC came back given the huge home court advantage Highland has. All in all, a great night and restored my belief in HS hoops in AZ!!!!

UCLA Smashes #1 Kentucky - Locker Room Celebration Video

Former South Mountain HS Coach David Grace's UCLA Bruins shot 53% against the number one defense in the country and out rebounded them as #1 Kentucky falls in Pauley Pavillion. I'm guessing that was the greatest win of Grace's college coaching career so far. HC Steve Alford has beat a #1 ranked team before at Iowa vs Arizona but not with his son Bryce at PG who had a great all around game. This huge win puts him that much closer to becoming the first ever retired military veteran to become a D1 HC. With the number 3 ranked recruiting class in the country next year the Bruins are only going to keep getting better. Here is Coach Alford's post game chat with the team. Coach Grace looks about ready to explode with joy but he's all business!

“Their coach outcoached our coach, their guards outhustled our guards to balls, they executed better than us,” Calipari said. “We just — we got kicked.” - LA Times

"They were tougher, and that's what we've been talking about for a while," UK coach John Calipari said. "... This was a spanking." - Scout
