It's been reported that Jason Fontenet Jr is leaving St. Mary's for a prep school. He was a major part of that Knights team that won state in 4A. SM is still going to be really talented, but without him are they still the favorite?
It’s reported that Jake Smith is in the transfer portal. Thoughts? He’s about as highly-regarded a HS player as we’ve seen recently out of AZ. It also seemed like he had a solid year for Texas, but I don’t know the reasoning necessarily
What rule changes in HS football would be fun but you know they would never happen because they’re silly or fantastical.
For example: when we were playing football on grade school or in the backyard, nobody could kick that far, so after someone scored you would just throw it as far as you could instead of a kickoff. There are some teams that actually might help, especially if they don’t have a great kicker.
What AZHSFB football team do you think will have the best group of LBs in the 2021 season? Chandler, O’Connor to name a couple I’d gravitate toward, but obviously some great ones outside of those.
I'm interested in folks thoughts on potential finalists for the Ed Doherty award for 2021. Last year barring anything crazy I think we all felt that Ty Thompson was a lock to at the very least be one of the finalists. Who would you guys say is an early favorite this season?
